Cayman Airways to introduce web-check –in
service
Cayman Airways is introducing the
web check- in
service from March 1st. This
new service which will be available from all routes will allow customers to
stay at home or in their office and check themselves in, select a seat, and
print their boarding pass.
Director of Information Technology, David Shibli
says, “We are very excited to be using the technology available to us to
enhance the level of service we offer to our customers.”
Web Check-in
passengers with a boarding pass and carry-on bags will be able to go directly
to the security check point. Customers who are dropping off bags or who need
their boarding pass printed can use the Fast Bag Drop Off counter.
Recent rules put in place by the TSA require Cayman
Airways to have all documents verified and in the system before the message
automatically sends to US Immigration.
With this in mind we are asking persons with no bags
to arrive at least sixty (60) minutes before scheduled departure. This will
allow them to clear any immigration lines and be in the boarding area in time to
have their documents verified.
Persons with bags should arrive at the airport ninety (90) minutes before scheduled
departure of the flight as they need to get to the front of the Fast Bag line
before the flight is closed which is supposed to be sixty (60) minutes prior to departure. This will allow for the completion of all screening
procedures.
Vice President of Operations Kris Bergstrom says,
“We cannot stress enough the importance of passengers getting to the airport
early so they have ample time to get their documents verified and their luggage
screened. This is very important to us as we want to ensure that we meet our
TSA requirements and also have on time departures.”
Extensive testing of the new web check –in new
service has been done by Cayman Airways. Employees, travel agents and representatives
of local hotels were all invited for demonstrations and testing of the service.
