Cayman Airways is reminding passengers that airport check-in for international flights is closed an hour before the flight’s scheduled departure time due to regulatory requirements and changes to outgoing immigration procedures on Grand Cayman. Passengers not checked in by this time will be unable to travel.
For all international flights, the airline recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least two to three hours prior to departure. Alternatively, passengers may check-in online at www.caymanairways.com and should arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before departure to drop off luggage, or one hour before departure with no luggage.
Check-in time for domestic flights between Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands is at least one hour prior to scheduled departure, with close-off being 30 minutes before departure.
“In addition to satisfying regulatory requirements, the closing of check-in one hour prior to departure also ensures that our passengers have sufficient time to clear security and make it to their gate for an on-time departure,” explained Ivan Forbes, Cayman Airways VP Airport Operations. “We thank our customers for their cooperation with this and we look forward to continuing to deliver the excellent service they have come to expect from the National Carrier.”
